August found Judy, Paul, Biddy and myself hitting the Iceland ring road once again, this time in the opposite direction, initially heading West to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula then venturing North as far as Lake Myvatn before returning via the F35 (Kjölur) ash road to Gullfoss.

The vistas were very different as the summer season added colour to the monochrome of winter we'd previously experienced, but were every bit as memorable in their own way

I'd actually completed the itinerary below when I came across the Full Suitcase blog recommending a similar, though slightly longer, route. Many thanks to Lithuanian blogger Jurga for her write-ups and tips on this, and other destinations, many of which I've subsequently used.
